| Step 1 | A mild sedative is taken to relax the patient. Shortly thereafter, the scalp is completely numbed. | |
| Step 2 | The donor hair on the back of the head is examined and a small strip is removed. | |

| Step 3 | The donor area at the back of the head is easily closed and concealed, leaving a very thin line scar. This suture line is completely covered by the hair around it. In time it is usually difficult to detect even when you're combing through your hair looking for it. | |
